Javier Ledo, the only detainee for the violent death of Paz Fernández Borrego, yesterday afternoon entered at the Penitentiary Center of Asturias accused of homicide, although this qualification can evolve to gender aggravated murder, according to the conclusion of the investigations still in progress. The magistrate of the Magistrate´s Court Luarca, Marta Huerta, keeps secrecy in summary proceedings because, according to different sources, the taking of statements and the search for more incriminating elements, such as the murder weapon, will continue.
Yesterday, the divers team of the GEAS of the Civil Guard was tracking again the bottom of the reservoir of Arbón (Villayón), where the corpse of Peace Fernández was found after have been disappeared for 22 days. According to the consulted sources, the murder weapon is still being sought. The thesis that the man accused had an accomplice, at least to get rid of the corpse, is also alive.
The man from Coaña, Javier Ledo, confessed to be the author of the crime. He did it yesterday before the magistrate, after he had already admitted it on Sunday night in the barracks of the Civil Guard of Luarca after been shown the multiple incriminating evidences against him and been subjected to endless interrogations.
According to the autopsy, Ledo would have struck Paz Fernández rage, causing multiple fractures to the skull and neck with a blunt object. Then he would have thrown the corpse to the Arbón reservoir, where it stayed for a long time, possibly from the day of her disappearance, the night of February 13th. The corpse was found by chance by a canoeist. The woman was wearing the black dress with which she had been seen that afternoon, but she did not have any underwear.
