In 48 hours, we passed from the short sleeve t-shirt to the coat and the umbrella. A polar front freezes the Asturian spring from Tuesday. Yesterday, the thermometers did not exceed 14 degrees, while on Monday they had reached 25. However, it won´t be the only storm that will affect the Principality: two others are on their way and will bring more rain and snow for the next long weekend, as the territorial delegate of the State Agency of Meteorology (Aemet), Manuel Antonio Mora, told La Nueva España.

The weather forecast is not changing today. We anticipate weak rainfalls and some occasional downpours, more probable in the Eastern part of Asturias, and the snow quota will be between 600 and 800 meters. Tomorrow, however, the bad weather will give us a break, as clear skies and rising temperatures are expected before the coming of two storms (one from the South and another from the Atlantic) on the weekend. Stability will return on Monday, May 1st.

The highest temperature in Asturias yesterday was recorded in Castropol, 13.7 degrees, while Pajares recorded the lowest one, with 3.1 below zero.

The snow specially made an appearance in the Asturian Southwest after a week marked by summer temperatures. Rainfall, hail and snowflakes appeared in the area in the early hours of the morning, making the landscape above 700 meters high be purely wintry. One of the places that could see the snow was Tineo, where the thermometers barely exceed zero degrees Celsius. The roofs of the houses became white due to the snowflakes.

However, the intermittent precipitations caused the thickness of the snow to be of just a few centimeters in the highest areas and its permanence was ephemeral in most of the places that received the visit of this spring snowfall.
